Last Post and a minute's silence as Club pays respects to those lost in war

There will be a minute’s silence before Saturday’s game against Nottingham Forest as the Club remembers those who lost their life while serving their country.

The Last Post will also be played with the Town and Forest players emerging from the tunnel a few minutes earlier than usual.

The Town players will be wearing shirts depicting the poppy and they will be signed by the players and auctioned off for the Royal British Legion.

The Club’s Community Champion, Sergeant Dale Daley, who has been nominated by 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, will carry a wreath from both clubs.

The Band of The Parachute Regiment, who are based in Colchester and form part of 16 Air Assault Brigade, will lead the teams out. They are in high demand as a marching band but also perform as a concert band and big band.
Amongst a long list of impressive engagements this year, they have performed as the guests of the Queen at Her Majesty’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.

Soldiers from the 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery will join the players on the pitch for the minute’s silence.
