Town forward praises the team spirit following the 3-0 win over QPR
Luke Varney believes the 3-0 win over QPR shows just how strong the team-spirit is in the dressing room at Portman Road.
The forward scored the second in a comfortable victory over Ian Holloway’s R’s, and he believes the result was the perfect reaction to last weekend’s defeat against Nottingham Forest.
“Even though we lost last week, there was still no malice, or name calling like I’ve had at previous clubs,” he told Ipswich Player HD.
“We are all together, and we were all hurting so I’m delighted we reacted to it and hopefully the fans have that feeling as well.
“To bounce back like that showed a lot of spirit and determination, especially at home where it has been a bit difficult for us.
“Hopefully that will stand us in good stead now and we can move forward to another big game with Bristol City.
“We always work hard as a team, which showed and we could have won by more in the end.
“I’ve seen what you need to do to get a shot [in the team] and the gaffer has been pleased with me.
“I was delighted to get a chance, and I’m glad I’ve got over my ‘one goal a season’ tag so I can move forward.”
