Play like that and the goals and points will come says Mick after Blackburn draw

Mick McCarthy was disappointed to leave Blackburn with just a point after Town looked the far more likely of the teams to win the game.

Tom Lawrence and Adam Webster both went close to ending Blues’ goalless run that now stretches to five matches but the Town boss saw plenty of encouragement that the goals and points will come.

“We created more chances and had more shots in that game than we have done in the last two or three matches,” Mick told Ipswich Player HD.

“Aside from the first 20 minutes, I think we were the better side and if there was a team that was going to win  the game, it was certainly us.

“Their keeper, Jason Steele, was man of the match and rightly so, so that tells you something.

“I’m delighted with the performance but disappointed that we are only leaving with a point. We deserved all three.

“As a team we played well and there were some really good individual performances as well. Freddie [Sears] was outstanding and so was Webbo [Adam Webster].

“We know we need a goal, it will probably take one to go in off someone’s backside but if we play like that, the goals will come and so will the points.”
