Jonny and Teddy in U23s action at Portman Road but injury blow for Crowey

Town will field a strong U23 side against Cardiff at Portman Road tonight with Jonny Williams and Teddy Bishop included in the line-up.

Jonny took another step towards full fitness after an ankle ligament injury with a 10 minute cameo against Newcastle at the weekend, while Bish was an unused substitute at St James’ Park.

Luke Varney, who has just returned to training after being sidelined with a hamstring problem, will also feature against the Bluebirds.

Dean Gerken will be in goal, while Paul Digby will also provide first-team experience for Gerard Nash’s side.

One player who won’t be involved is Wales U21 international ‘keeper Michael Crowe, who faces three months out after rupturing ankle ligaments while playing for Town’s U23s at Colchester last week.

Kick-off against Cardiff is 7pm, with tickets priced at £3 adults; £1 concessions. Season ticket holders can get in free.  Entrance via Cobbold Stand.
