And good news on McGoldrick as he closes in on return to action

Jonny Williams will be in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Blackburn and David McGoldrick is closing in on a return to action.

Palace loanee Jonny has recovered from ankle ligament damage sustained while playing for the Eagles in a pre-season friendly, while Didz is also on the mend from an ankle ligament problem that has sidelined him since August.

“Didz has trained really well this week and he is getting there,” Town boss Mick McCarthy told the Club website.

“Jonny is close as well and he will be in the squad for the Blackburn game.

“We know what good players they are but we can’t just throw them in. They are not ready to start yet.

“Didz needs a game for the U23s and we are looking at maybe the Newcastle match for him to be back in the squad.”

Mick also confirmed that Adam Webster has recovered from a hamstring problem and has trained fully this week.

Teddy Bishop is a doubt for the weekend though after breaking his nose again in training this morning.
