Blues have to settle for a point following six-goal thriller against Crystal Palace
Town’s U18s showed their fighting spirit as they twice came back from being behind to earn a point at Crystal Palace on Saturday morning.
All six goals came in the opening 45 minutes, with the Eagles taking an early lead through Emmanuel Okorougo but Brett McGavin quickly levelled things up with a superb finish.
The hosts retook the lead through Victor Fundi and extended it with a strike from Emmanuel Yeboah, but Jack Lankester pulled one back soon after after, robbing the Palace defender of the ball before slotting into the net.
Lankester doubled his tally just before the break as he sent the Palace ‘keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Both sides had chances to win it in the second-half but had to settle for a point as the Blues put an end to a run of five straight defeats.
Town: Hayes, Murrell, Marshall, Woolfenden, Meldrum, McGavin, Cahill, McKendry, Lankester, Folami.
