First-half goal the difference as Town's U18s fall to home defeat
A first-half goal was the difference as Town’s U18s wait for a victory continued with a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United this morning.
The Blades took the lead with twenty minutes on the clock as the Blues failed to deal with a set-piece, allowing the visitors to knock the ball past Harry Wright in the Town goal, and it was an advantage which would be held until the break.
Both sides were reduced to 10-men in the second-half, with midfielder Flynn Downes shown a second yellow card following an altercation with an opposing player.
The game appeared to lack intensity following the red cards, and United held on to claim all three points at Playford Road.
