The striker is itching to make up for lost time and help out the team after a frustrating spell on the sidelines recently
Luke Varney has told Ipswich Player HD that he is over his injury frustrations and looking to play his part on the pitch once again.
The striker, who scored his only goal of the season in the win over Derby last month, has sat out the past six matches with a hamstring injury but, after featuring for the U23 side this week, is raring to go again as Rotherham prepare to visit Portman Road this weekend.
"I'm feeling good and it was important for me to get 90 minutes under my belt for the U23's on Monday night," Luke told Ipswich Player HD.
"It was frustrating that I came back twice and broke down. I wish I had waited a little bit longer and got myself right, but these things happen and I think I'm clear of it now.
"The timing of the injury was disappointing, because I felt I did well in the games against Derby and Aston Villa in particular, but that's football for you.
"I just need to get that match sharpness back now, but that will come soon enough. I just want to get back out on the pitch and help the team as much as I can really."
