Town defender ready to square of with international teammate Ross McCormack this weekend as Town look to build on midweek win at Derby

Christophe Berra is looking forward to locking horns with his Scotland international teammate Ross McCormack this week, as Town prepare to welcome Aston Villa to Portman Road.

It will be the first time the two sides have met in a League fixture since 2002, with Christophe hoping the Blues can build on Tuesday night's victory at Derby with another three points against Roberto Di Matteo's side.

"Villa have got a big squad and have some very talented players, especially up front, but we are at home and we want to keep up our good record in front of the Ipswich supporters," the defender told the official Club website.

"They've spent big on [Jonathan] Kodjia and Ross McCormack and we know it will be a tough battle.

"I've played against him [McCormack] many times and obviously trained with him numerous times with Scotland.

"He's a very good striker and has scored lots of goals in this league for the past three of four seasons, but he's not the only one we have to worry about as they have quality throughout their team.

"It's a game we are looking forward to and it should be an exciting fixture at Portman Road in front of our own fans, especially on the back of Tuesday night's victory."

Please note the game is all-ticket. There are no tickets available on the gate. You can purchase online providing you can print at home and in Planet Blue up to 1.30pm but you must have purchased a ticket at the Club during the last 10 years.
