McLoughlin on target but young Blues are pegged back by The Trotters at The Macron Stadium
Town's U23 side slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Bolton last night, in a game played at The Macron Stadium.
The Blues included trialist Jordan Spence in the starting line-up, after the right-back had spent time training at Playford Road last week.
Gerard Nash selected a fairly young side, due to the first-team's involvement against Brighton in the Championship the following evening, although Shane McLoughlin, Ben Morris, Kundai Benyu and Michael Crowe were all included.
And it was one of the aforementioned players, McLoughlin, who opened the scoring for The Blues after 17 minutes with a neat finish.
However the hosts hit back through a Hyugo Tanner penalty just before half-time, before Joseph N'Guessan won it for Bolton with a strike with 10 minutes remaining.
Town: Crowe, Spence, Fowler, Smith, Webber, Woolfenden, Benyu, Blanchfield, Patterson, McLoughlin, Morris. Subs: Hayes, Marshall, Meldrum, Wilton, Daniels.
