Seven out for Blues ahead of Brighton visit but some good news
The pre-season signing from Tottenham was one of three Blues that limped off in the 1-0 defeat at Leeds at the weekend but he has recovered from a knee problem to give manager Mick McCarthy some positive news from a packed treatment room.
“Wardy is okay, thankfully. He trained today so he should be alright for Brighton,” the Town boss told Ipswich Player HD.
“Teddy Bishop is having his nose reset tonight. He will have to wear his mask. He looks like something from the Phantom of the Opera. It’s not the best preparation for a game but he’s in the squad.
“We are missing seven others though and I suppose you could call it an injury crisis.
“On top of Tommy Smith (back), David McGoldrick (ankle), Luke Hyam (knee) and Luke Varney (hamstring), we have lost Brett Pitman from Saturday with an ankle injury and Adam Webster with a hamstring.
“Jonny Williams trained with us today and it’s great to have him around the place but he won’t be available until after the international break.
“Kevin Bru and Freddie Sears are also carrying niggles so it’s a bit cramped in the treatment room to say the least.”
