Boss pleased with Rowe as lessons learnt from defeat at Millers

Mick McCarthy picked out Danny Rowe’s display as one of the positives of the defeat at Rotherham.

The January signing from Macclesfield made his first start for the Club in one of nine changes to the team that beat Newcastle on Monday and impressed at the New York Stadium in the 1-0 defeat.

“I was really pleased with Danny. He did well,” the Town boss told Ipswich Player HD.

“He will go on to be a good player for us and he was certainly a positive from today.

“Dominic Samuel did okay as well and I fancied him to put the ball in the net when he had that chance in the first-half.

“We had chances and prior to their goal we were on top and it was a bad goal for us to concede.

“It’s a lot easier for the players coming in if you make three changes. I know that but I wanted to give some players a game.

“One or two ran out of steam at the end and I’m disappointed we have not taken something from the 90 minutes but you learn things from games like this and I’ve done that.”
