Striker wants a repeat of Newcastle display as Town look to end home season on winning note

David McGoldrick is after a repeat performance of Town’s last home game when Blues take on Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

The biggest crowd of the season, 25,000 plus, watched Town take apart high flying Newcastle on Easter Monday, with Didz among the scorers in a 3-1 win and the Republic of Ireland international is hoping for a follow up display.

“We want to finish the season on a high on Saturday and at Nottingham Forest next week,” Didz told Ipswich Player HD.

“The Newcastle game was a fantastic atmosphere and we matched it with a good performance.

“It reminded me of the year we got to the Play-Offs when teams didn’t like coming to Portman Road. The place was buzzing and everyone was up for it, the players and the supporters.

“We need to get back to those days and the Newcastle match showed we are capable of doing that. Hopefully we can turn in the same sort of display at the weekend and finish our season at home in style.”
