Young Blues defeated by strong Canaries side at Portman Road as the annual Hospital Cup takes centre stage

Town’s U16's were beaten 4-1 at home to East Anglian rivals Norwich City in the Hospital Cup.
The Blues lost at Portman Road despite taking the lead through Lounes Foudil in the early stages, but Jaden Thomspon-Brisett led the way for the Canaries by netting a hat-trick.
Foudil’s opener came in the 13th minute, as the attacker’s speculative effort from outside the area squirmed under City ‘keeper Ryan Dickerson.
But this lead lasted just 60 seconds, with Thompson-Brisett equalising for the visitors.
The away side took control for the remainder of the first-half with goals from a trialist and a second from Thompson-Brisett.
And the result was confirmed soon after the restart when Thompson-Brisett secured his hat-trick with a drilled effort from outside the box.
Town improved in the latter stages, but were denied on various occasions through some resilient defending.
Proceeds from Thursday night will go to Town’s academy.
Town: Egan, Elmizouni, Clements, Ronan, Henry, Vega, Crowe, Brown, Hughes, Foudil, Knight. Subs: Dobra, Barley, McCarthy, Henderson, Ruffles, Wooldridge, Smith.
