Taylor offered chance to return for pre-season but he and Jonas ruled out for rest of the campaign

Steven Taylor and Jonas Knudsen have been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Jonas has sustained a shoulder injury that saw him miss the win over Wigan on Tuesday while Steven was forced off before half-time with a recurrence of a hamstring injury.

“Both of them won’t play again this season,” Town boss Mick McCarthy told Ipswich Player HD.

“Jonas’ shoulder popped out but it’s not as bad as we feared and we are going down the strength and conditioning route for his recovery rather than surgery.

“Tayls missed pre-season and that’s not helped him. He is a great character and a great professional and if he is fit, I would like him here and competing for a place next season.

“I have effectively offered him the chance to come back and do a pre-season at Ipswich and he if gets himself fit, we can talk about him staying here.”

Cole Skuse is also not available for Saturday’s trip to Fulham having been concussed in the draw with Birmingham last weekend.
