Mick praise for Cottagers but points to successful month

Mick McCarthy had no complaints about the result and praised Bart Bialkowski for keeping Blues in the game after Fulham showed their class at Portman Road.

Goals from Neeskens Kebano and Rui Fonte gave the Cottagers a 2-0 win and it could have been more but for the brilliance of Town’s ‘keeper.

“Bart was terrific for us and kept us in the game,” the Town boss told iFollow.

“Sometimes though, you just have to accept that the opposition were better on the day and this was one of those occasions.

“They were excellent and I’m not sure there was anything more we could have done about it.

“We tried everything. We pressed, we sat back but they did everything well and we got away with it at 2-0. We could have been out of it by half-time.

“We could have done better in certain areas and we didn’t do enough with the scant chances we had. We’re disappointed to lose obviously but if you’d offered me 12 points out of 15 at the start of the month, I’d taken that all day long. It’s been a good month.”
