Midfielder faces surgery after torn cruciate ligament revealed

Andre Dozzell looks set to miss the rest of the season after it was confirmed he has sustained a torn cruciate ligament.

The midfielder, part of the England team that won the U19 European Championship last month, was stretchered off at the end of the first-half in Town’s win over Birmingham on Saturday.

He saw a specialist tonight and surgery is expected to take place next week with a nine month estimated recovery period.

“I saw Dozzer yesterday and he was very down time. He is bound to be,” Town boss Mick McCarthy told the Club website.

“It’s the season out for him and it’s very disappointing, for us but especially for Dozzer. He will get looked after well by our medical staff and we wish him as quick a recovery as possible.”
