Marcus on renewed optimism at Portman Road as Town look to make it five out of five
Club owner Marcus Evans has paid tribute to Mick McCarthy and his players for Blues’ impressive opening to the season.
Town take on Fulham on Saturday looking for a fifth straight Championship win in what would be the best start to the season in the Club’s history.
“We were all left very disappointed by last season but I hope what you, the supporters, have seen so far from the team has given you renewed optimism for the year ahead.
“What has made the results even more rewarding is that they have come given an extensive injury and illness list that seems to grow every week. That has put pressure on the squad, especially at the back where we have lost Luke, Tommy and Adam Webster.
“I know Mick is happy with the squad we have assembled over the summer. It allows for injuries but you can’t legislate for the number we have had recently and it means that we are looking to add to the squad with another defender before the transfer window closes next week.”
There is much more from the owner in Saturday’s matchday programme.
