Summer signing looks back on Town's opening day win over Birmingham
Joe Garner has expressed his delight at opening his account for the Blues on his debut.
His 50th minute strike was all that was needed to see off Harry Redknapp's Birmingham City at Portman Road, and the summer signing was happy to get off to a winning start.
"It was good to get the goal, and more importantly the three points," he told iFollow Ipswich.
"I thought the lads played really well against a tough, big, strong side, but we're happy to get the points and it was nice to get on the scoresheet.
"The clean sheet was massive too, and the back five will be happy, as will Bart [Bialkowski].
"In the second-half we played some good football so the lads have done really well.
"I think the Charlton game was a wake-up call and it could be good for us in the long run. It's about points now and every credit should go to the lads.
"Hopefully the fans have gone home happy and will have a good weekend now."
