McDonnell and Fowler head to Shots in month deal

Adam McDonnell and George Fowler have joined Aldershot on a month’s loan.

The Town duo completed the paperwork this afternoon and will train with Gary Waddock’s team for the first time tomorrow.

Adam, 20, has featured for Town’s first-team this season, with appearances in both Carabao Cup ties, against Luton and Crystal Palace, as well as a late substitute run out in the win at Barnsley.

With Tom Adeyemi and Luke Hyam coming back into contention after injury though and the emergence of youngsters Flynn Downes and Tristan Nydam, Town boss Mick McCarthy has given the green light for the Irishman to head to the Vanarama National League club.

George, a graduate of the Town Academy, made his first-team debut in the defeat at Crystal Palace last week.

The pair follow in the footsteps of former Blue, Kundai Benyu, who had a successful loan spell at Aldershot last season.
