BOSS ON INJURY WORRIES

12 August 2017

Mick says he may have to look for reinforcements

Mick McCarthy said he might have to look to add to his squad as Town’s injury worries continue.

Flynn Downes limped off in the second-half of the win at Barnsley while Tommy Smith has joined the longer term casualties.

“Tommy pulled his hamstring with the last kick of the training session yesterday. He looks like he will be out for six to eight weeks,” explained the Town boss.

“It’s the same with Webbo [Adam Webster]. We had seven defenders and now we have five so it’s a concern obviously.

“I’ve got five midfield players in the treatment room as well. We will know more about Flynn tomorrow.

“I’m going to need a bit of help I think.”
