Rib injury for Chambo but Tommy could be set for return to the squad

Town have an injury concern over Luke Chambers ahead of Saturday’s game against Leeds.

The skipper sustained a cracked rib scoring Blues’ goal in the draw at Brighton on Tuesday and Town will make a late call on him.

“He’s had a scan and they have told us what Chambo already knew, that he’s cracked a rib,” Town boss Mick McCarthy told the Club website.

“We will have to see how he is. He played on with it. They say it can get worse but he’s had 48 hours now and seems okay."

Cole Skuse is available though after recovering from a bruised achilles and Christophe Berra is fit after missing the game at Brighton after being concussed in the win at Aston Villa last weekend.

Town could also welcome back Tommy Smith into the squad. The New Zealand international has not featured since having an operation on his back in September.
