If we play like we did in last two Championship games I'll take that says Mick ahead of Rovers visit
Cole Skuse and Luke Chambers are back in the squad after missing last week’s FA Cup draw with Lincoln, but Blues will be without David McGoldrick, who is out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring problem and there are doubts over Myles Kenlock (calf) and Brett Pitman (groin).
“Blackburn have got a good squad of players, players from when they were spending big money from their Premier League time,” the Town boss writes in his column in Saturday’s matchday programme.
“They have won a couple of games on the bounce, with a great result against Newcastle included in that. They will be looking to maintain that momentum and will look at Saturday’s game as an opportunity for them.
“For us, if we get the level of performance that we got in our last two Championship games, against Bristol City - when we got the win we deserved - and at QPR - when we didn’t - then I’ll take that.
“We were back playing like my teams do and if we do that it will give us a platform to build on.”
Mick added that he is still looking to supplement his squad before the transfer window closes at the end of January, saying: We are continuing to look at bringing in some extra quality and as I have said before, we may have to be patient on that.”
Saturday’s matchday programme includes an extended interview with Andre Dozzell plus Town’s fitness coach Andy Liddell talks candidly about the challenges he faces on and off the pitch. Adam Webster, David McGoldrick and Tommy Smith also feature.
