BOSS ON FAIR BIDS MADE

26 January 2017

Town continue search to add to squad after million pound plus offers knocked back

Mick McCarthy has reiterated that Town have significant bids in for players and will keep looking to add to his squad over the rest of the transfer window, with a striker a priority.

The Town boss revealed to the Club website two weeks ago go that Blues have seven figure offers in for a number of players and he told Ipswich Player HD: “We are still trying to get deals done.

“I said at the start of January this will be a difficult window and it’s proving that way

“I know we have bids in for strikers and they are fair bids but they have been knocked back so far.

“Everything is inflated by the money in the Premier League and the Premier League money that has come down with the relegated clubs.

“Some of the deals that have been done are nuts but that’s the way it is. I hear Wolves are prepared to pay millions and millions for a loan signing they have brought in. Good luck to them if they can do it but it makes it a lot harder for the rest of us.

“It makes me laugh because I have been talking to people in the Premier League and they are saying ‘It’s hard at the minute!’ I’m thinking ‘really!’”
