Club to pay for the 1100 who were at cup exit to travel on last away day of season

The Club will be offering the 1100 Town fans who were at Tuesday’s FA Cup exit at Lincoln free coach travel to the last away game of the season, at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, May 7.

The decision was taken by Club owner Marcus Evans following the disappointment of the third round replay defeat at Sincil Bank that Town MD Ian Milne acknowledged has hit all involved with the Club.

“Everybody at the Club is hurting. Mick; the players; the staff and of course, our fantastic fans,” Ian told the Club website.

“We need the continued backing from the supporters, especially in difficult times and we appreciate the time and money they spend following the team. We hope that this gesture goes some way to showing that.

“Our season has been disappointing so far culminating in the defeat at Lincoln but there have been encouraging signs recently in the league and hopefully we can get back to winning ways at Huddersfield at the weekend. The fans can have a big part to play in that - as they always do.”

Details of how to redeem your free travel voucher for the Forest game will be announced in due course.

Those adult fans who didn’t go to Lincoln but will use the official Club coaches to travel to the Forest game will be charged £24.
