Midfielder makes deadline day switch to Portman Road on loan from Championship rivals Cardiff City

Town have agreed to sign Emyr Huws on loan from Cardiff City until the end of the season.

The Wales international, who has 10 caps to his name, becomes the second deadline day addition by Mick McCarthy, following Reading striker Dominic Samuel through the doors at Portman Road.

The midfielder, who is an international teammate of Jonny Williams, will spend the rest of the campaign with the Blues and could feature against Reading at the weekend.

The 23 year-old came through the ranks at Manchester City, taking in loan spells with Northampton, Birmingham and Wigan before joining the Latics permanently in 2014.

After a spell on loan with Huddersfield, the midfielder then joined Cardiff City in 2016 but has struggled to establish himself with the Bluebirds and has now teamed up with Town.
