Manchester City wideman arrives on loan for the season
Town have pipped a string of Championship clubs to the signing of Manchester City’s highly-rated Bersant Celina.
The 20-year-old wideman has joined the Club on a season long loan from the Premier League giants and has travelled to Ireland with the first-team squad for a week long training camp.
He becomes the fifth signing of an increasingly busy summer for Blues, with Jordan Spence, Joe Garner, Emyr Huws and Tom Adeyemi having arrived at Portman Road in recent weeks.
Bersant was at Stromsgodset in Norway as a youngster before catching the eye of the City scouts and he joined the club’s Academy at 16.
He progressed through the youth ranks at the Etihad and was handed his Premier League debut in a 3-1 defeat by Leicester in February 2016.
He spent last season on loan at FC Twente, becoming a regular in their line-up in the Dutch top flight.
Capped by Norway at youth level up to U21, Bersant switched his international allegiance to his native Kosovo. He is capped at senior level and is seen as part of their national side going forward.
He arrives at Portman Road having signed a long term contract at City that keeps him there until 2020.
