Town on look out for inspirational people to carry out matchball
Town will continue with the Community Champion initiative for the 2017/18 season.
The initiative was launched last year, giving well-deserving people in the community the chance to lead the teams out on matchday, carrying the matchball.
Former Newmarket players Shaun Whiter and Joey Abbs, who were both badly hurt after being struck by a car, Ollie Parker, who came to the aid of a man who had an epileptic fit and Oliver Turner, a brave youngster who had undergone chemotherapy to fight against a Wilms tumour, were just some of the Community Champions who received a great ovation from the Town fans last term.
The Club are now looking for worthy nominations for the new campaign. The Community Champion doesn’t have to be a Town fan but they have to shown something special, whether it be bravery, loyalty, kindness - something that makes them stand out.
