First fans panel meeting is held at Portman Road with a number of ideas being actioned to try and imrpove the matchday experience amongst others at Town
Town held the first 'fans panel' meeting recently, with a number of supporters meeting with Club staff at Portman Road to discuss a variety of topics.
The initiative is designed to improve communication and engagement from the Club to the fans and the first meeting took place in the media suite at Portman Road, with a focus on improving the matchday experiecnce via the Fanzone initiative and half-time entertainment specifically.
The topics will change at each meeting, with a second one pencilled in for October. Assistant Media Manager, Jonny Ogle, Club Secretary, Stuart Hayton and Media Manager, Steve Pearce answered questions from the panel, which consisted of Chris Mitchell, James Melsa, Rose Meleady, Carolyn Lemay, Mandy Garner, Joe Fairs and Sam Gillespie.
Following on from this meeting, steps have already been taken to improve the Fanzone with ITFC artwork and branding being installed and serving times being extended until 2.45pm. For the Birmingham game, supporters in the Fanzone during 12-1pm will be able to claim a free drink of their choice.
The Club acknowledges the need for card and 'contactless' payments to be installed and work on that front is ongoing and will be communicated to supporters in due course.
Half-time entertainment will also be introduced this season, with a 'battle of the stands' penalty shootout to be launched against Birmingham, with four season tickets for next season up for grabs. More details to follow on this soon, but if you fancy your chances at slotting home a penalty then email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest and note which stand you sit in.
