Flynn signs for three more years after strong pre-season performances

Flynn Downes has signed a new three-year deal with the Club, keeping him at Portman Road until 2020.

The midfielder only recently signed his first professional contract, but has been rewarded with a new contract having impressed Mick McCarthy in pre-season so far.

He has played a part in the Blues' three first-team pre-season games so far, and has partnered the likes of Teddy Bishop and Kevin Bru in the centre of midfield. Most recently, he played the first hour of last night's 3-1 victory over Peterborough United at the ABAX Stadium.

Flynn was also involved in the first-team towards the end of last season, and made the bench for the 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest on the final day of the campaign.
