Supporters turn out in their numbers as Club open doors
Close on 6500 fans attended another successful Open Day at Portman Road.
After the taking of the official team group picture, the players took part in a signing session for 75 minutes, with 2200 people getting autographs and photos before Mick McCarthy and his staff put the squad through their paces.
On the fieldturf, thousands enjoyed the sidestalls and activities, which included a number of inflatables, Ipswich Witches Speedway, Go Ape, Namco Bowling, Seckford Golf Club and many others.
“It’s been a great day,” Mick told iFollow: “I think we all get enthused when we see all the fans’ anticipation of the season starting.
“I knew what a good community club Ipswich is before I came here almost five years ago.
“It’s a friendly club, with nice people around here and that is epitomised by days like today and seeing the supporting enjoying themselves.”
