A handful of youngsters join up with the first team ahead of the first game of pre-season
Mick McCarthy has included a number of young players in his squad that travelled to Ireland on Monday for a week of pre-season training.
The players will train throughout the week at Carlton House just outside Dublin before facing Drogheda United at United Park on Saturday (8th of July).
Flynn Downes, George Fowler, Adam McDonnell, Tristan Nydam and Pat Webber have all made the trip, while new additions Jordan Spence, Joe Garner, Tom Adeyemi and Bersant Celina are also involved.
David McGoldrick, Emyr Huws and Tommy Smith are yet to report for pre-season training with the trio given extra time off due to international committments throughout the summer.
Another player who won't be part of the squad is Andre Dozzell, as the 18-year old is currently on England U19 duty at the European Championships in Georgia.
Steven Taylor, however, will be heading to the Irish capital as he continues to try and prove his fitness in an attempt to win a deal at Portman Road.
