Folami and Lankester on target as Town's U23s come out on top
Town's U23 side continued their pre-season preperations with a victory over Coggeshall Town at West Street this afternoon.
Jack Lankester and Ben Folami grabbed the goals for Gerard Nash's side having fallen behind to the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division side.
The Blues dominated posession in the opening 45, but the hosts' physical presence up front was causing trouble, and Josce Syrett opened the scoring for the Seedgrowers from a set-piece with half an hour played.
The sides would go in level at the break, however, as Lankester equalised with an audacious lobbed effort.
Town again started well at the beginning of the second period, and Monty Patterson came close before Nash changed his entire starting line-up, aside from goalkeeper Nick Hayes, with younger players getting the opportunity to impress in the final 30 minutes.
The decision to make wholesale changes paid dividends as Folami turned in Albert Wilton's driven cross with 15 to play as Town held on for the victory despite facing late pressure from the hosts.
