New initiative from Club aimed at the Blue Army

The Club are keen to increase engagement with supporters and are looking to meet up regularly with a panel of Town fans through the new season to discuss... whatever the fans want to discuss.

The panel will be made up of a diverse section of fans and will work as another voice alongside the official Supporters’ Club, who the Club will also continue to meet through the year.

“The Club remains committed to improving the engagement levels with supporters,” Town’s assistant media manager, Jonny Ogle, told the Club website.

“We have a close working relationship with the Supporters’ Club and that will continue but there are a lot of fans out there who have a voice and we want to hear from them as well.

“While there has to remain a level of structure to the meetings - we can’t be discussing on-field matters for example - most other topics can be looked at. As a starting point, what would you like to see included or improved at Portman Road that might add to the matchday experience?

“We can directly address questions from Town fans during the meetings and have the minutes fed back to all supporters that wish to view the notes.

“We want the panel to be a real cross-section of supporters - including some younger fans - who are keen to engage directly with the Club. We want it to be a real ‘voice of the fans’ opportunity.”

Jonny will host the meetings through the season, with the first meeting taking place in the home dressing-room in the lead up to the new campaign. Other members of Club staff will be invited to attend through the year if requested by the panel.

If you would like to get involved and be a voice of the fans to the Club, then please email a short statement to explaining why you'd like to be part of the panel.
