Blues looking to seal deal with Championship clubs for new season

Town have written to Championship clubs offering a reciprocal deal to cap the price of away tickets.

The initiative will see Blues put a ceiling of £25 on adult match tickets for visiting clubs to Portman Road, with Town fans paying no more than the same price at away games.

“Supporters travel 1000s of miles every season watching their club so we listened to feedback from both our own fans and those of visiting opposition teams and decided to initiate a price cap,” Town’s director of retail operations, Lee Hyde, told the Club website.

“We have contacted virtually every club in the Championship with the reciprocal offer and we have already received very positive feedback.

“The contact with clubs has only just been made over the last 24 hours or so but already six clubs have come back and agreed and others have expressed interest so there are encouraging signs that we can achieve something.”

The maximum price of £25 will only apply on a reciprocal basis. If the opposition do not take up the offer, their fans will pay the standard price for that game when at Portman Road.
