Town striker plays 90 minutes for his country but can't stop Mexico in New Jersey

David McGoldrick earned his sixth cap for the Republic of Ireland but couldn't prevent them slipping to defeat to Mexico.

Martin O'Neill's side were defeated 3-1 by Mexico in New Jersey, with Birmingham's Stephen Gleeson on target for Ireland.

McGoldrick started up front alongside his former Town teammate Daryl Murphy and the Blues' frontman played the full 90 minutes.

Ireland take on Uruguay in Dublin on Sunday in another warm up game ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Austria on June 11th.
