SIR ELTON JOHN CONCERT: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

The pop superstar is performing at Portman Road on Saturday. Here's the full guide to the big event

 Ipswich Town will welcome back Sir Elton John this weekend with the music legend in concert at Portman Road on Saturday.  

He returns as part of his worldwide Wonderful Crazy Night Tour, with Elton taking to the stage to perform songs from his latest studio album, Wonderful Crazy Night, as well as smash hits from his stellar career. 

“We are delighted here at the Club to be hosting one of the biggest entertainers in the world in Sir Elton John,” said Town MD, Ian Milne. 

“I’m sure it will be a fantastic occasion for the thousands who will be at Portman Road on the night.”

It will be the second time Sir Elton has appeared in concert at Portman Road, following on from his show here in 2004.

Rosie Richardson, the Club's director of sales said: “It's a pleasure to work with the Marshall Arts [promoter] team once again.

“We are delighted to see Sir Elton John back here. He was magnificent when he was here 13 years ago and we know he will be outstanding again this weekend.”

Security
This is a high profile event. Extra security measures will be in place, including a visible police and security personnel presence.
No large bags or backpacks will be allowed to be brought into the stadium. Small personal bags (up to 35cm x 35 cm) will be permitted, along with purses.
ALL BAGS will be subject to a search.
Concert-goers are encouraged to arrive as early as possible because security checks and searches will cause delay on entry to the stadium.
Please report anything that causes you concern to security personnel in and around the stadium.
Those attending the concert are not allowed to bring food and drink into the stadium.
CCTV will be in operation at Portman Road.

There is no park and ride service operating for the concert.

Food outlets

Here is a sample of some of the food available around the stadium from 5pm.

Big AL’s Burger with lettuce, tomato, relish & Monterey Jack Cheese;  

Franks Hot dog with available toppings: Fried onions, Smokehouse Beef Chilli, Cheese Sauce;

Nachos with available toppings: Smokehouse Beef Chilli, Jalapenos, Salsa, Cheese sauce;

Middle Eastern Chicken Shawarma with pickled red cabbage;

Roasted sweet potato, Courgette & Aubergine Shawarma with pickled red cabbage;

Tandoori spiced chicken breast salad box;

Chips with available toppings: Curry sauce, Cheese Sauce;

Spinach & mushroom pie;

 In addition, on the Fieldturf there will be plenty of other tasty delights on offer, all from Cart Occasions including The Dog House (foot long sausages); Burger Van; Mexican Gazebo (nachos); Hog Roast; Noodle Tent and Ice Cream kart.

That lot will make you thirsty, so...Aspall and Greene King Frizzenti will be bringing their vans, beer buggies will be serving Fosters and Aspalls, along with Bellini’s mobile units.
