New features in the planning as Club look to build on first year success

Town’s FanZone is set for a facelift for the new season.

Launched at the start of last term, around 30,000 supporters used the facility before games through the year with live music at many matches, as well as food outlets and a bar in the marquee.

“We weren’t sure how successful the FanZone was going to be because it was a new venture for the Club but it’s proved to be very popular,” said Town’s media manager, Steve Pearce.

“The challenge now is to move it forward and we are looking at different ways of doing that.

“The football area for the youngsters will continue but we are working with sports organisations to see if they want to put on coaching sessions in the FanZone, as well as looking at other activities that will add to the matchday experience, particularly for the young.

“We also want to showcase local music acts and will continue to show live games from the Premier League in the marquee.

“We are planning to give the FanZone a bit of colour as well. It has definitely been a success but we need to continue to improve on it.”
