Toums up against club that gave him his most successful time in football
The midfielder spent six years at Griffin Park and helped the Bees to promotion from League One and a top six finish in their first year in the Championship.
“My memories of Brentford are very good ones,” Toums told the Club website. “It was the most successful time of my career, winning promotion and then getting to the Championship Play-Offs. That was a special year.
“The bond between the players was very strong. That was the secret to our success I think. We were like brothers and all wanted to do well for each other.
“The manager, Mark Warburton, played a big part in the success as well, obviously. He got us playing a new style of football that we all bought into and we enjoyed playing that way.
“When we got promoted to the Championship, he told us that the target was to get in the Play-Offs. I think we were a bit surprised at that having just gone up but we started well and after a few months we started to believe that it was possible.
“Some of the players from that time are still at the club now. I still stay in touch with them and it will be good to see them on Saturday.”
