Welshman a concern but Taylor, Williams and Huws could return

Tom Lawrence is an injury concern for the game against Birmingham but Steven Taylor, Jonny Williams and Emyr Huws could all be in contention to feature.

Steven has been out since sustaining a hamstring injury in the win at Aston Villa at the start of February.

Jonny is back after having shoulder surgery and has featured for the U23s recently while Emyr missed the defeat at Cardiff before the international break with a hamstring problem.

“We have got Jonny back with us now and he will be contention for Birmingham,” confirmed Town boss Mick McCarthy to Ipswich Player HD.

“Emyr has trained this week, Teddy Bishop and Steven Taylor as well.

“Tom Lawrence and Didz [David McGoldrick] both had to withdraw from their internationals squads because of injury. Didz is okay now but we will have to see with Tom. He was out running yesterday and is itching to be involved but I don’t want to start players who have been off for a while and then they are out again.”
