Midfielder pledges future to Blues and targets a regular first-team place

Andre Dozzell has signed a new contract that will keep him at Portman Road for another three years.

The midfielder, who turned 18 today, penned his first professional contract - a two year deal - in May 2016 but his stay with the Club has now been extended until at least 2020.

The England U17 international, who followed in his dad Jason’s footsteps by scoring on his debut as a 16-year-old - for Town in the draw at Sheffield Wednesday last season, has made 11 appearances in the first-team so far.

“I’ve been in and around the first-team this season and that’s my goal, to play regularly for the team,” Andre told the Club website.

“That is the only thing that will keep me improving and that is what I’m focused on.

“It was hard when I wasn’t involved over the first half of the season but I can see why I wasn’t. The Championship is a tough league and it’s difficult to throw someone of my age into those types of games but I’ve been working hard in the gym to become bigger and stronger.”
