BOSS ON LAST DAY DRAMA

5 May 2017

Mick expecting hostile City Ground as Forest look for Championship survival

Mick McCarthy is expecting an amazing atmosphere when Town finish the season at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The City Ground will be packed as Forest look to avoid the drop to League One.

They are involved in a last day shoot-out with Blackburn and Birmingham and the Town boss told the Club website: “To think Forest could go down is amazing really.

“I would imagine it will be a full house and given what’s at stake, it’s going to be an amazing atmosphere with their fans getting behind their team and willing them to stay in the Championship.

“They will have an edge to them but we will as well because the game is going to carry an edge.

“It could have been us in the situation Forest are in though. We were on the slide for a while but we managed to stop that and then had two great performances and results when we needed them against Burton and Newcastle.”

The game is being shown live on Sky TV. Kick-off midday.
