Former Blues lead TEAMITFC cycle challenge on tour of Suffolk this weekend
Shaun, who played for Newmarket before losing both his legs after being hit by a car in July 2016, will lead the cyclists out in the first group that departs Portman Road at 9.15am on Sunday, May 14.
The cyclists will spread the 150 mile route around the Suffolk countryside over two days and are scheduled to arrive back at the Club around 4pm on Monday. Overnight stay is at the Potters Resort at Hopton with the return journey along the East coast through Southwold into Woodbridge and then back to Portman Road.
Most of the cyclists are raising funds for the Friends of Ipswich Town and Prostate Cancer UK charities but some are also raising funds for additional charities which are close to them personally, with Shaun riding in support of the East Anglian Air Ambulance service who he credits with saving his life.
Over the last three years TEAMITFC have taken on three cycling challenges which have helped raise over £250,000 for charity.
