Mick sees positives and negatives illustrated as campaign ends at City Ground
Mick McCarthy felt Town’s defeat at Forest summed up the season, some good, some bad and some in-different.
Blues shaded the first-half but went behind to a Britt Assombalonga penalty just before the break and Forest struck twice more in the second-half to seal their place in the Championship for another season.
“We played well in the first-half and I was delighted with the performance,” the Town boss told Ipswich Player HD.
“We hit the bar and were equal to them but we gave a stupid penalty away. I don’t blame Bart, it was poor defending but we let them off the hook in the first-half.
“They had their tails up from there and it knocked us back. It was a great strike for their second goal, even though it took a deflection.
“The game summed our season up really. We had a good first-half but go behind and then we were poor in the second-half. There was some good, some bad and some in-different.”
