Boss delighted with performance and attacking threat of Blues
Mick McCarthy said Town were well worth a point at Hull and could have taken all three.
Jordan Spence gave Blues a share of the spoils with a late equaliser after David McGoldrick had put Town in front early on and then seen his penalty saved with the Tigers 2-1 ahead.
“I am going to settle for a point when we are 2-1 down with only a few minutes left but we certainly deserved something. We could have won it,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“We started well, got the goal and we let them off the hook a bit at that stage.
“They got back in it and it was a mistake for their second goal, though [Nouha] Dicko took it well.
“We are a threat going forward though this season. Didz scored, Bersant [Celina] was a real problem for them in the second-half and I think we were the more attacking threat after the break.
“They got a lift with the penalty save but one of the endearing qualities of my teams is that they will keep going to the end and we got our reward.
“I was really pleased with the performance and it sets us up for the game on Wednesday night against Sheffield.”
