Boss rues McGoldrick absence ahead of Villa challenge
Mick McCarthy has spoken of his disappointment at losing David McGoldrick but is looking for someone else to grab their opportunity.
The Republic of Ireland international striker has been ruled out for a month after having surgery on a bad cut sustained in the midweek draw with Sheffield Wednesday.
“He has been scoring goals and fitted in well in the fluid system with the four of them going forward.
“It’s a nasty injury and he will be out for three or four weeks so we have to look at someone else now to come in and take their opportunity.”
Mick added that there will be changes to his side when Town travel to Aston Villa at the weekend.
“We’ve got Jonas Knudsen back now from suspension and he’ll play and there will be fresh faces in the team tomorrow.”
