Boss aware of Cardiff threat as Town look to jump back into top six

Mick McCarthy says his side will need to be as their resilient best for the trip to Cardiff tonight.

The Bluebirds are yet to lose at home this season, and the Town boss believes they will be desperate for all three points at the Cardiff City Stadium after being held by Millwall at the weekend.

“They’re a strong side with a good home record” Mick told the Club website.

“It’s a different challenge to Saturday at Burton. Neil Warnock’s had a great start to the season with them. He’s got the best out of so many of the teams he’s been with.

“Millwall held them to a 0-0 though. I think Cardiff would have been looking for two wins in these two home games so they’ll be desperate for three points against us.

“We’re going to need all our resilience as it’s a tough place to go.”

Town are two points off the Play-Offs with a game in hand while Cardiff sit in third place, just a point away from an automatic promotion spot.
