Striker looking for Blues to end derby run on Sunday

David McGoldrick believes the Blues owe the Town fans a derby day victory.

The Portman Road faithful last witnessed three points in an East Anglian derby back in 2009, when Jim Magilton’s men beat Norwich 3-2.

Didz is confident that eight year wait could be over on Sunday though when Blues take on the Canaries in front of the live Sky TV cameras at midday.

“Since I have been here we have never beaten Norwich so hopefully we can end that,” said the Republic of Ireland international in an interview in Sunday’s matchday programme.

“We have a good squad and perhaps they are not as strong as they have been in the past, though we know they are a good side. We’ll give it right go. I think we owe the fans a victory.

“It’s a great game for the supporters. Derbies always are. The passion, the intensity, it’s all there. I’m looking forward to it.”
