BOSS ON BLADES' CUTTING EDGE

13 October 2017

Mick not surprised by high-flying Sheffield

Mick McCarthy says he isn’t surprised by Sheffield United’s promising start to the season and expects them to be in the hunt for promotion come the end of the campaign.

The Blades sit third in the table ahead of Blues’ trip to Bramall Lane on Saturday and the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich: “They’re a good side.

“They came up with momentum after last season and now they’re playing with confidence.

“Their 3-5-2 system is working well for them and they have a lot of firepower. I would expect them to be competing for the Play-Offs at the end of the season.

“It’s an old fashioned ground, a good atmosphere there and they are going well so we’ll have to be bang at it this weekend.”
