BOSS: NOTHING IN IT AGAIN

22 October 2017

Mixed emotions for Mick but says Blues have to find winning formula again

Mick McCarthy was happy enough with the performance but rued the moment of quality that decided the game.

Town had the better of the first-half chances with Jonas Knudsen and David McGoldrick going close but Norwich took the points through James Maddison’s clinical finish just before the hour.

“It was a really good first-half display and the performance overall was good but like last week, there was nothing in it and we blinked first,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

“We didn’t get that bit of magic or bit of luck, whatever it takes and they had the moment of quality from the edge of the box with the goal.

“After that, they sat back and made it difficult for us to break them down.

“We kept going though and Waggy [Martyn Waghorn] went so close at the end.

“I can’t fault the players but I don’t want to be talking about good performances every week. I want to talk about winning games and we have to find that winning formula again.”
